Attachment control seems to break WF integration

I have an InfoPath form template in a SharePoint 2007 library. The form template allows users to attach files. The library is using the OOTB Approval Workflow. When a user opens a form that has a pending workflow task, they see the "Edit this task.." button in the information panel but clicking it does nothing. If I remove the attachment control from the template and re-publish, the "Edit this task..." button works. What gives?
