Not sure why your view is not switching. Probably either the order of the User Roles or the Open Rules.

AD Web service (we sell one for $19.95) also can be used effectively. View switching is trivial. Lots of posts on how to do it and examples in SDK as well as the sample out-of-the-box solutiosn that ship with InfoPath.

Good luck!

Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]
InfoPath Dev Seattle

Form behavior based on the user's credentials

Hi..

I'm working on Infopath since two months. I've a problem coming up.
I'm doing with a form which requires to switch views according to the department of the employee who has downloaded the form from the company's sharepoint site. Now i've tried couple of methods like.

1. using sharepoint site lists.
2. using .Net code and using SQL server tables.

But i have struck in both the methods. Because both involve secondary data source and working with them in the code is creating problems. Can anyone help me in guiding anyhow through this.

Is there any way to do this using USER ROLES method. I also tried that but views were not switching. also i'm not sure about the active directory usage. Whether user roles are validated with the intranet's active directory or with some other ( e.g windows server)
Don't know. Please help me.

Thanks in advance.
Arvind
