I wonder if you can just handle for this in your workflow - maybe add a condition that if the field contains "\" you could use a substring function to get the username and then append the @ domain to it? I'm not super familiar with SPD workflows, so I'm not sure what all is available there for this, but I'm guessing basic string functions would be.... I'm not sure why the opened XML would revert back to the prior format - is this field a default value that leverages the data connection?

SharePoint Designer Workflow not emailing to form that had previous data connection

I recently migrated an InfoPath form library from SharePoint 2010 to Office 365. During this transition I had to recreate one of the data connections. The name of the data connection remained the same and I updated the fields in the form to take the values of the new data connection. This is working as expected for new forms and emails are being sent to the values being supplied. This is not working however for any form that was created prior to the migration. For example, I have an data connection that supplies the email addresses of selected value. It will show as username@domain.com for new forms. The old form is still showing the value of domain\username. I went in and manually updated the xml of one of the forms, saved and uploaded. It showed the new value until the form was opened and saved again. After that it reverted back to the old domain\username. I don’t see where this could be referenced in the form unless it’s in the manifest.xsf file. This affects roughly 4k + forms and I am under some serious pressure to get this fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated
