Error connecting to web service when using Alternate Access URL

Hi,

I have trouble configuring my sharepoint site to work with the InfoPath form which calls GetUserProfileByName webservice.

Everything works when I access my site through :">http://<hostname>:<portno> .

However, when I use the alternate access mapping address, I could not connect to the web service when I open the form.
Error message is unable to connect to web service.

I have been reading up on this however I do not seem to understand what works for me.

I have tried to update host header binding, dns setup, edit host files and none of it works.

Any help is much appreciated.
