Create a corresponding XmlNamespaceManager object to handle the namespaces.

Create an SqlConnection to your database and use an SqlCommand that will perform the insert.

Iterate through the nodes in the XML document, executing an SqlCommand with each set of data.

The above assumes you don't need to enforce any sort of permissions at the server, or modify the values in the database using InfoPath afterwards.

If, given the above steps, you still can't figure out how to accomplish the task without someone handing you the code, then the question is - How do you intend to maintain the code? (and it will need maintaining).

Part of making good business solutions is knowing what's already out there so you don't waste time and money reinventing the wheel. Qdabra has spent thousands of man-hours developing a product that does exactly what you want to do (and more), and is offering it to you at a rock-bottom price. When you consider the amount of time and money your company has already spent on your searching for a special-case, single-use approach, it's not that hard to see that the smart money is with DBXL.

Re: storing xml values in database

yes you posted this before... its not an option for our company...

Qdabra Software pays for this free forum. Our goal is to reply to 90% of weekly forum posts (within the week). We provide many coding samples and advice. However, we have to make money to continue providing this service, so we have developed some very inexpensive tools to address the most common gaps in InfoPath. The most common is SQL integration. We have a free trial of DBXL available that you can download and use to get your form submitting to SQL within an hour. It's very inexpensive if you choose to buy a Beginner license - far less than the time it would take you to create a Web Service to programmatically map the values to SQL. DBXL is data driven so it supports multiple XSNs and no recompile of the Web service is needed. Since it's data driven, you can change your form's schema (data source) or your database and the submit process won't fail. DBXL stores your form as an XML blob in the database alongside the mapped out tables. It supports mapping repeating structures to children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, ..., tables. Lots of other features too.

Thanks for understanding our position on this.

storing xml values in database

im seeking to store the values of my infopath form to a sql server database but cannot seem to find any online examples that work.

im posting the infopath data to a web service as an xml document.

this file will include repeating table rows data as multiple elements in the xml file.

all i want to do is read and store this data into a sql server database. ideally a record in the database for each repeating table row the user enters into the form (1 - many)

can anyone provide example code to do this exercise?
