How do I get data from a webservice (dataset) to populate a combo

This is probably a newbie question, but I have benn trying unsuccessfully to get the resulting dataset from my webservice to populate a combo box in InfoPath2007. My webservice is good but what I don't know is if I am doing something wrong by using a dataset or if what I am doing wrong is in InfoPath.

When I attempt to set up my secondary datasource I get messages like "You have chosen to bind a non-repeating control to a repeating field or group" or when I try to set a value for the combo I get "You selected the field where the control saves the data. Instead, select the field where the control looks up the data".

I may just be so new to InfoPath that these message just don't tell me what to fix.

My webservice just returns a list of Office names, a single field for each.

Let me know if you need to see the web service code, what it returns, or a better explaination of what I am seeing.
