If you have other applications that depend on this web service, you could create a InfoPath interface method that wraps the parameters, but the body then just calls the original method.

Does infopath require any specific SOAP Parameter style

Does InfoPath require that the web service it submits data to, use document / literal / wrapped?

I have a (.net) web service whose operation (i.e. web method) if set to use the Bare SOAP Parameter style i.e.

<soap:body>
   <InfoPathRoot>
...
   </InfoPathRoot>
</soap:body>

then the infopath does not seem to list it when configuring the web service submit. There is nothing displayed in the pane after selecting the operation and when i click next it says that "You did not specify any fields or groupd ....no data will be sent" or something similar

However, if the same operation used the Wrapped SOAP parameter style i.e.

<soap:body>
<GenerallyMethodNameHere>

    <InfoPathRoot>
  ...
    </InfoPathRoot>

</GenerallyMethodNameHere>
</soap:body>

then infopath lists it when the web service submit is being configured.

In both cases, the parameter of the webservice is System.Xml.XmlNode i.e webmethodname(XmlNode node)

Is this is something that is known? or have i missed something

Thank you
Tanveer Rashid
