But in my case, it seems to be very hard to use Infopath.
We have a form for surgeons with many fields. At the beginning of the form open, loading all data from web service, and save it by clicking a button. These fields are shared for both web methods (get and save). I think this is very noraml use case. PDF can do this very well. How Infopath does for this kind of usages?

Our scenario like this, form is located on a web server, and user can open it by an url from IE browser.
The question is (for Infopath 2007)
a) What kind of file should be used (.xml or .xsn)
b) Do we have to install infopath for the client pc?
c) How to pass parameters to the infopath form from the URL?

Thank you!,

Eugene,

Re: Data Binding to two places in the data source

No, you can't do this directly but you should be able to accomplish this with either rules or a default value formula.

For default value formula: double-click on the node that is not bound to the control on the view and then click on the function button for the default value. Click Select a field or group button, select the other node, and click Ok several times.

For the rule (if the above is not available): double-click the control on the view, click Rules, click Add, make sure that there is no condition, name the rule something like "Update Secondary Node", click Add Action, select set a field's value.... I think you can take it from here.

Good luck!

Data Binding to two places in the data source

Hi All,

Is it possible to bind one field in the form to two places in the data source?

I want to share one text field for both web service 's request and response. in other words, I have the same parameter at the request and response.

Thanks,

Eugene,
