You can verify this by going to the Tools -> Data connections. Here you have to select the correct nodes to set the values for each parameter to the Web service function. If this is correct then the WS should recieve the data correctly.

Shanthi
InfoPathDev India

Re: Data Submission through Web Service to SQL

I am working with msmith0004 on this project.

It now looks that the webservice is not inserting the data into the database because there is no information being passed to it. After selecting an item from the dropdown box, it populates other elements in the form. Then we can edit those elements and set new properties on some of the additional elements.
After this is done we click the submit button, which we have tried to set up to use a c#.net web service (that we made) to insert that data into a different database on the same remote server. When doing this, it has an alert pop up saying it submitted successfully, but when looking at the database table, it did not insert any data.

We used this tutorial to create the web service and set up the form:http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_ip2003_ta/html/OfficeInfoPathWebServiceASPNET.asp

We did not, however, do Section 3 of that tutorial because it did not look like it was needed for what we are doing.

So we think everything is working except for the web service.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Data Submission through Web Service to SQL

Hi Smith, Welcome to the Board!

Once the data is submitted to Webservice by InfoPath, webservice has to insert data into SQL. Are you trying to do the same thing or am I missing something here.

What are the statements that you are using to insert into database?
But if webservice has to insert into DB it is purely .net code, its no way related to InfoPath. Can you please explain your problem in little more detail?

Agni
InfoPathDev India

Data Submission through Web Service to SQL

Trying to submit data from info path, through web service and insert into a table in SQL.
