Last week I was able to connect through the Data Connection Wizard and submit data successfully. I was even able to use the Data Connection wizard to modify the web service url when in debug mode (Visual Studio 2013 - .net 4.5) and utilize breakpoints in my code. Last week I was amazed at how simple it was.

AFAIK nothing has changed ... now, when I attempt to modify/create a connection using the Data Connection wizard I get the error: 'Could not open http://localhost:5163/Service.asmx?WSDL' when I click OK i get this message - 'InfoPath cannot find or cannot access the specified Web serivice description' and the details read:

The file is not a valid XML file.
Not enough storage is available to process this command.

I have researched high and low trying to find an answer for this. I get the exact same results when I attempt to connect to the published service in IIS. The log files on the webserver are giving an http 405 error. Looking in my local iis express logs I am getting the same thing. Here is a copy of an attempt from iis express that shows the error:

2015-07-22 14:46:24 ::1 GET /Service.asmx WSDL 5163 - ::1 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/7.0;+SLCC2;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729;+Media+Center+PC+6.0;+.NET4.0C;+.NET4.0E;+InfoPath.3;+ms-office;+MSOffice+14) - 200 0 0 7
2015-07-22 15:00:47 ::1 OPTIONS / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft+Office+Protocol+Discovery - 200 0 0 1
2015-07-22 15:00:47 ::1 OPTIONS / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/6.1.7601 - 200 0 0 0
2015-07-22 15:00:47 ::1 PROPFIND / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/6.1.7601 - 405 0 1 2
2015-07-22 15:00:47 ::1 PROPFIND / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft-WebDAV-MiniRedir/6.1.7601 - 405 0 1 2
2015-07-22 15:00:47 ::1 GET /Service.asmx WSDL 5163 - ::1 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/7.0;+SLCC2;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729;+Media+Center+PC+6.0;+.NET4.0C;+.NET4.0E;+InfoPath.3;+ms-office;+MSOffice+14) - 200 0 0 4
2015-07-22 15:01:21 ::1 OPTIONS / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft+Office+Protocol+Discovery - 200 0 0 0
2015-07-22 15:01:21 ::1 GET /Service.asmx WSDL 5163 - ::1 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+7.0;+Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/7.0;+SLCC2;+.NET+CLR+2.0.50727;+.NET+CLR+3.5.30729;+.NET+CLR+3.0.30729;+Media+Center+PC+6.0;+.NET4.0C;+.NET4.0E;+InfoPath.3;+ms-office;+MSOffice+14) - 200 0 0 4

and here is text from the log from when it worked properly the other day ....

#Version: 1.0
#Date: 2015-07-15 12:47:53
#Fields: date time s-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem cs-uri-query s-port cs-username c-ip cs(User-Agent) cs(Referer) sc-status sc-substatus sc-win32-status time-taken
2015-07-15 12:47:53 ::1 GET /Service.asmx - 5163 - ::1 Mozilla/5.0+(Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/7.0;+rv:11.0)+like+Gecko - 200 0 0 2510
2015-07-15 12:48:19 ::1 OPTIONS / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft+Office+Protocol+Discovery - 200 0 0 0
2015-07-15 12:49:05 ::1 POST /Service.asmx - 5163 - ::1 SOAP+Toolkit+3.0 - 500 0 64 43289
#Software: Microsoft Internet Information Services 8.0
#Version: 1.0
#Date: 2015-07-15 12:49:37
#Fields: date time s-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem cs-uri-query s-port cs-username c-ip cs(User-Agent) cs(Referer) sc-status sc-substatus sc-win32-status time-taken
2015-07-15 12:49:37 ::1 GET /Service.asmx - 5163 - ::1 Mozilla/5.0+(Windows+NT+6.1;+WOW64;+Trident/7.0;+rv:11.0)+like+Gecko - 200 0 0 2452
2015-07-15 12:49:49 ::1 OPTIONS / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft+Office+Protocol+Discovery - 200 0 0 0
2015-07-15 12:51:51 ::1 OPTIONS / - 5163 - ::1 Microsoft+Office+Protocol+Discovery - 200 0 0 0
2015-07-15 12:51:51 ::1 POST /Service.asmx - 5163 - ::1 SOAP+Toolkit+3.0 - 200 0 0 187

What is this PROPFIND that is failing?
