When I try to connect directly to the database I have the following error:

The amount of data that was returned by a data connection has exceeded the maximum limit that was configured by the server administrator. Form elements, such as drop-down lists, may be blank.

An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

I'd suggest that you check your data connections and uncheck that option if you don't need to query on load. That will also help if the form is being slow.

What error do you get when publishing to SharePoint?

Thanks,

Jo-Anne

Re: Is there any way to stop Infopath loading all records in SQL database i.e. query database

I wonder if you could use a connection to a SharePoint list and use BDC to populate the list? Then you'd have query fields (at least if you are using InfoPath 2010)

Our web service also makes it very easy to query for specific data - free trial here if you are interested.

Is there any way to stop Infopath loading all records in SQL database i.e. query database

I am getting an error on my data because it looks like I am loading records. My SQL database is a secondary data connection there are no query fields, so I am filtering on the field. All works well ( a little slow) in preview but when I publish to sharepoint I get an error. Is there a workaround. I do not write code so looking for a solution where I can use Sharepoint Designer or Infopath.

Thanks in advance
