I would be interested to look at a Demo. I downloaded DBXL from your website, but installation was giving me some errors and I gave up.

we are back to event receivers to inject data into SQL server. If we find your tool easier to do, i would be interested to take a look

please let me know what do we need to do to make this happen.

thanks.

I am glad you were able to achieve your requirements, that's great.

It does sound like a lot of code though. That is one reason to use our tools, there is no code to maintain, we have already written all that code into our DBXL Services Software. If you ever want a demo of our tools please let me know and I would be happy to show you how they work - since you have now done this yourself it might be interesting to compare the level of effort required via a custom coded soltuion versus our tools.

Good luck with your project

Microsoft's reccomendation for solutions with a complex schema and or relationship like yours is to either use custom code or to use web services (which is custom code obviously too). They also reccomend that for complex forms you need to use an InfoPath document library and not a SharePoint list form forms.

Based upon what I am reading in your post it seems to me that your solution is complex enough that just using SharePoint lists to manage this is going to be a challenge. You can read this article here for more information: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/infopath/archive/2010/04/22/comparing-list-and-form-library-forms.aspx. Full InfoPath and a document library with XML's will give you a lot more flexibility

You should consider our generic web service called "DBXL" (Database Accelerator) here: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/DBXL.aspx

You can also contact me via a private message in the forums and I can setup a demo of DBXL and show you how it works and talk about your project in general.

My requirement is as below:

1. There is external database of Exam management system having complex relation between tables.
2. There is Sp and Views based on the above table.
3. There is multiple insertion and deletion on the single as well as multiple table at time.

I have following requirements.
1. All the data from SQL server must be display into sharepoint's custom list. (Not an External list because there is some limitation of external list like we can not create workflow on it!!).
2. Custom list data will be process from multiple tables.
3. CRUD(Create,Read,Update and deletion of the data from Custom list same time from SQL server)

Can any one sharepoint expert please suggest the way to developed the above project. I have done some R & D but not get success. I have tried following options but none of them are feasible for my requirement:

1. External list is not the feasible option because there is the so many limitation that’s become roadblock for us.
2. Customize External List Forms Using Microsoft InfoPath , but there is some limitation of the same as below:
                    Disadvantage:
1) Code behind feature not available.
2) Primary key should be is identity “Yes”
3) Suppose we would insert data into exam master then the GUID auto generated customization will not be feasible using this method.
3. Issue of displaying data into custom list (which having all the default functionality sharepoint provided).
i. i.e. We have create two Submit connection
a. Submit to custom list
b. Submit using Web Services.
