There's no one unique way to integrate DBXL with Sharepoint. There are a few options, depending on whether you want users to be able to delete, for example. This document is a good start, but there are more options that we are in the process of documenting.

2. No. Only SQL and SQL Express.

3. In the software's web.config you can define administrators who can set up mapping. You can also define Readers and Writers.

Feel free to email sales at qdabra dot com for more info, a demo or anything else. Thanks!

Re: Submitting to SharePoint Form Libraries & SQL

Thank you for your help! I have a couple follow up questions about DBXL-

What happens when the form is deleted in SharePoint? In addition to our reporting needs, we are looking to move data off of the content databases and solely store them in SQL

Does the software work for mySQL, Access DB, etc?

Who can set up the mapping? What permissions are required within SharePoint and within the database?

Re: Submitting to SharePoint Form Libraries & SQL

Submitting to SQL is a classic InfoPath problem. Here's what was discussed in an earlier thread:

If you create your form using an XML Schema
(File->Design...->New from Blank) you can't submit directly to a
DB. That's because the schema is XML and not based off SQL data types.
Submitting directly to a DB after form creation was never an option in
InfoPath.

If you create your form from a DB, you already have the submit data
connection built in.

Best practice here is to submit to a Web Service as an XML string.
Have the Web Service handle the mapping to SQL. Then, one Web Service
can handle any form. This is the way Qdabra's Web Service Suite (DBXL)
works. Free downloads and very inexpensive licenses will save you a lot
of time and money.

I found other previous discussions which all point to similar solutions:

(a) You create a db-bound form.

(b) You write your own web service.

(c) You use something like DBXL to map the data.

This is a great post which covers b and c. Good luck!

I was looking to create an additional data connection that would be used when the form status is complete. For this data connection, I am looking to load all of the form data into a Access or SQL database. I'm having a difficult time - does anyone know how this is done?
