Maybe SQL will then see that this field has changed and therefore UPDATE instead of INSERT.

Question on email attachments and sql

Hi, I have a form with a data connection to an sql database and I have the form is published to a SharePoint website. When I fill out the form from Sharepoint then submit it, it inserts into the sql database and then I send an email with the attached form. Then I save the form on Sharepoint. So far everything is good.

When I open the saved infopath form from Sharepoint and make modifications to it and then submit it again, it UPDATES the sql database. So far everything still good.

Here's my problem, When I open the attached infopath form from the email, and make modifications to it and then submit it, it INSERTS to the sql database. So now I have duplicate entries of the same form but with a different primary key.

My question then, is there some way to modify the infopath form when opening from email, and submit as an UPDATE?

Thanks
