Could you add a rule to your form that sets a value based on calculating the integer for the lower bound Julian date and use that in your Query? Default SQL query in InfoPath doesn't give you the ability to filter server side so you may need to create a Web Service to take the parameter and run a stored procedure to return just the values you care about. Or, you can install a free trial of WSSP (our ultra-cheap Web Service that does the same thing). Of course, you could pull all the data down and filter client side but that has the performance implications you allude to. Here's a link to WSSP: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/DBXL.aspx.

May the force be with you,

I am looking at one table only in the database. It has one column which is defined as int, but contains a Julian date (nb a true Julian date not the microsoft version)

I need alter the either the datasource itself (preferable) or filter a list box so that it pulls a list from the table but only for records newer than a certain date as there are too many records returned.

Any idea how to do that?

I am trying not to use code to do it.
