https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/47.aspxFor questions concerning issues in the integration of SQL and Microsoft InfoPath.enCommunityServer 2007 SP3 (Build: 31118.962)https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/thread/38264.aspxMon, 09 Feb 2009 22:43:31 GMT033a2e2d-04e2-4a9d-be01-a4634161eefd:38264nucel0https://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/thread/38264.aspxhttps://www.infopathdev.com:443/forums/commentrss.aspx?SectionID=47&PostID=38264<p>I have the need for my users to have a standardized form for a government program we work on and while I have successfully created this form in InfoPath 2003&nbsp;storing the entries to an XML file, I now have the need to begin storing key pieces of data to a database so that it can be queried or searched.&nbsp; However, some of the fields of this form cannot be saved to an access database because&nbsp;inforpath is picky about how the fields are formatted as a primary data source.&nbsp; I do not need these fields anyway for the purpose of the database.&nbsp; I know that I can submit data to the database and basically print or save the InfoPath form with all the data to an XML file.&nbsp; But what I need to be able to do is 1.) be able to search and select a single record from the database which would then populate all of the fields of the form and 2.) be able to update the data on this form.&nbsp; How can I pull up a single record following the results of a search string, say a last name where there may be 2 or more of the same last name, and how once I select the record I want, do i get the data stored in the xml file to populate the rest of the form data that is not in the database?</p>
