Why don't you create the new form based off your database table? Then you'll be able to query and submit data to the database with your form. InfoPath supports this wil SQL or Access databases.... This article has more information -- the tutorial is for Access, but would be easy to adapt to SQL.

i am creating Poc(proof of concept in my company).i need to get the data from database and fill it to control and i will enter data other than filling control, i want to save to as xml in database.

like contactdetail,i will take the data from database contact details, i will enter extra course detail and i will send database. how to do it?. for poc i don't want to use dbxl.please tell me how do it?.
