I installed SQLExpress on my workstation and started to create the tables and columns again hoping that this might be easier for someone to help me out. I can email screen shots or even the form itself if that would help.

The form does have a lot of time invested in it but i'm not adverse to creating a new form, copying over the fields and changing the bindings to the DB. BUT ... I am a DB novice so I'm not even sure how I should design a DB properly in preparation for the IP form. I do know that the form will have repeating tables and sections in it as the form needs to be flexible for all business units.

Any thoughts on how I can create tables or columns in tables to handle the repeating sections (some business units will add up to 10 additional sections that detail their business process information) and tables?

Thanks!

Phil.

I hate to ask this, but do you have a lot of time invested in your current form? If not, you may want to consider finishing your database design first and then, when you build your form, basing it on that database. You will then be able to query and submit without code. If that isn't an option, or if I haven't fully understood the question, please let me know.

IP Repeating Tables and Sections into Access DB.

Hello,

I've searched the archives and saw a few older posts about something close to what I need but never completely answering it. I'm hoping you guys/gals can help me out.

I have an IP form that has a few Repeating sections (some with repeating tables), Optional sections and repeating tables. I have only 1 view (not sure if that's best but for flow, I prefer it.) and I'm trying to connect to an Access 2003 DB. I'm no DB guru to say the least so any coding is most likely over my head. So I started working on the DB connection by creating DB, then creating a table. I was going to bind all fields to columns in the single table but then ran across the issue with repeating sections and tables. I then tried to create a table per section but then still got caught up on the repeating sections and tables.

How can I get the repeating tables/sections to properly enter data in their own fields/columns in the DB? I'd love to try Qdabra and a web service front end to a SQL DB but additional hardware and software analysis takes time around here that I don't have.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can get my repeating form fields to propelry align in the DB? I can submit screenshots if anyone needs them.

Thank you!

Phil.
