I appreciated the help you gave me; however, I must be missing something about the rules. I put the filter on in the data connection but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Do I need to put the filter somewhere else? It looks like the help section mentions filters only works in repeating section or repeating tables. The filter didn't work. So, now I'm stuck.

Re: Autopopulating from Access database

When you use the rule to populate the other fields, you might have missed the "Filter" button. You need to use this so that you select the correct row (based on the value in the drop-down list box) so that you populate the fields with data from the correct row.

Autopopulating from Access database

I couldn't find what I was looking for. If it has ben answered, please forward me to the posting. I am trying to use Access to collect data for the InfoPath form. I am using the drop down list which is a list of records in the Access database. I am using rules to populate the fields in InfoPath that I want. It does autopopulate; however, it populates with the latest record in the Access database. Is there a way to have the user select the record he/she wants and InfoPath populates the form with information from the Access database using the desired record? Can this be done without programming since I do not know any programming?
