From the first part of your message it sounds like the HowTo I suggested would be a great place to start. One complication is that you are trying to join across several tables in Access. InfoPath can do this in the Data Connection wizard, but sometimes if the join is really complicated it can get hairy. However, if you use the query filter like I suggested in the HowTo, you will see no performance problems regardless of the size of the database.

The code for submitting via e-mail and printing can probably be found on these forums after a little searching, but they are however, another topic for discussion.

Re: ODBC to ACCESS to InfoPath

Matt
I am currently trying to create a form that will auto populate certain information based on the user entering in a case number. The populated information is pulled from 3 odbc tables that are linked in access. after the information is populated the user will need the ability to type information into more fields.

FYI... The information populated from the 3 ODBC connections without filter equal 1.2 million lines of information. And the form its self contains 60 collums

Any suggestions?

I am hoping the user will be able to enter the case number in a text box on view 1 then click "query" (or some button), then view 2 will bring up the pre populated info (based on the case number). The user will then enter the rest of the information into the form and click submit.

I need help with the data connections and filtering

the 3 odbc links need to be joined, so I can also filter for certain info. I presume I also need to be able to submit to it, so that I can filter the odbc query to just pull info based on the case number.

any thoughts, am i missing any info you need?

PPS I need a code so submit will e-mail and print with the same control.

Re: ODBC to ACCESS to InfoPath

Hello Donald and welcome to the forum!

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish, but I think the information presented in this tutorial should be able to help you out:http://www.infopathdev.com/howto/tutorials/default.aspx?i=0bb37b4de44348408680a53a449f2353

ODBC to ACCESS to InfoPath

I am a new user...
I am currently linking my ODBC tables to Access. In Access I have a query set up to pull specific information (duh). Is it possible (I imagine it is) or can someone explain to me how, to set Infopath to allow a user to put in a number, submit that number to Access, then query an ODBC based on the information given in access, and then return the information to the Infopath form.
