You can create a data connection to the SQL table and then use an XPath filter to get the correct values based on the skill & node to set your field values. The form can submit to a form library - your workflow can be on the library.

Some links that may help you:

https://support.office.com/en-au/article/Filter-the-data-that-is-displayed-in-a-control-7c9471ed-46e6-40fc-93b6-8f25e5fa4deb
https://support.office.com/en-ca/article/Introduction-to-data-sources-5f1770fd-938b-4576-a718-6512d512521c

You would not have to use a workflow to send the email - InfoPath can submit via email, so you can add a submit data connection that sends email.
https://support.office.com/en-au/article/Submit-form-data-in-an-e-mail-message-99a4b32c-1512-4ff2-8d3b-c7285300a931

Re: Pulling SQL or EXCEL Table data with IP2010

Anyone?

Pulling SQL or EXCEL Table data with IP2010

Hello

I know that without working where I work it will be tough to follow what I actually want or why its important, but I will try!

Need:

My idea is to create a form that the user (quickly) can go in and submit two specific (seperate) pieces of information in this case "skill#" and "node#" and the form produces a value underneath the "skill" and "node" based off of a table reference either by excel or sql. Once the User submits, it kicks off a workflow to fire off emails to the correct group.

Explaining current data table:

I currently have a semi automated method to look up specific information about the (skill and node) using an "offset/match" formula in excel (screen print attached) All the user does is write in the skill and node andit finds the 4 pieces of information listed in attached "Example.JPG"

End Product:

sends email to me with "VCC_ADM_PROVIDER_REGIONAL/Skill1072/NODE7/87%" (Example)

-based off of users input in IP2010.

Is this possible? Let me know if you need any adl information.

thanks all
