Searching for a tutorial in using UserProfileService

I would love to find a tutorial that walks someone through building an InfoPath form that uses the people picker control to select one or more users, then uses UserProfileService.asmx to retrieve all the profile information for the people selected.

Even better would be a way to then edit the information where necessary (say a department re-org, etc.) and to write the information back out.

Is anyone aware of any tutorial that does something like this?

The issue that we are trying to deal with is this.

We have users that have information coming back from UserProfileService that is out of date. Their Active Directory information is up to date. Most of their User Profile information is up to date.

However, there appears to be a profile property ("User name") that is not being updated. So we would like to be able to have a little InfoPath app that a farm admin could run to correct that property.
