ItemValidationMessage not displayed

Since I use a customized InfoPath form instead of the default sharepoint form, user messages for validation set in sharepoint don't show up anymore. Instead of these messages, a standard InfoPath error popup is shown, with a lot of information which do not really have to be shown to the users. For example something like this appears:

The form cannot be submitted because of an error.

Click OK to resume filling out the form. You may want to check your form data for errors.

Hide error details

The form cannot be submitted.
One or more fields have invalid values and cannot be submitted to the list.
[Start1] - [Please choose a date within the allowed timeframes].

Can you tell me how I can reactivate the normal validation message? It should only display "Please choose a date within the allowed timeframes" within the form.
