Here's a link on how to copy or move a list (including its XSN and list data which is optional) by using a list template: http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/sharepoint-server-help/copy-or-move-a-list-by-using-a-list-template-HA101782479.aspx.

Hope that helps!

Re: Re-use template for new SharePoint List?

Sorry Joy, it seems we are out of luck. I can then edit it to my heart's content, but starting with all the fields, rules, etc that I already built in the first version of the form.

The issue that I forgot to mention is that I need to then take this template from one SharePoint site and use it on another SharePoint site. InfoPath won't let me change the SharePoint List that the form submits to, since it is running just as a SharePoint List without being in a SharePoint Form Library. The SharePoint List data connections are grayed out for editing. :(

I can post the file, but since it is referencing another list for data population I'm not sure if you'll be able to open it or not.

Thanks,

Joy

Re: Re-use template for new SharePoint List?

Hi Joy, you can make your minor modifications in design mode, change the SharePoint List where your form submits to, then publish the modified form on a new SharePoint Form Library.

Let me know if this helps :)

Jun

Re-use template for new SharePoint List?

I built a terrific form for my SharePoint List in InfoPath.

However, I now need to make three slightly different versions of the form, connected to three different SharePoint lists.

I have been unable to change the Main Data Connection in the InfoPath file to link to a different list.
