I have a InfoPath form with a coupled SharePoint Form Library, with a workflow attached.
The InfoPath file is the default document and when it is submitted the workflow kicks in.
The intent is to have some interactive RFC like document where all approves can be given etc.

I've created the form, the workflow and it all works fine, now I want to disable some fields if the document has been submitted (and it has an author), so that the initial fields cannot be edited.

I have a successful query for information about the current user with the SP2010 and fields populate correctly. (used for disabling user specific allowed/disallowed fields).

But when I make a new query for information to the form library it self, it doesn't work correctly. I query for the Created_By and the Modified_By fields, including a self created field (integer).
The query works when I open the document inside the browser with SP2010 and IE9/10/11, But when I open the document in normal InfoPath Filler the fields are left blank, even when I force a re-query on an event (button).

The data connection is limited to the current document only and refreshes on opening, also have tested to make it available offline, no results.

Anyone some suggestions why this works inside browser edit and not in the default InfoPath filler?
