I copied your example to the T but only one row will populate from the repeating table. I tried to type this into the ID field value but it would not accept it. I ended up having to click Edit Xpath in order to get the formula to take. I'm thinking this is the problem area. Please help when you have time. Thank you

Thanks for the response! I just right clicked on the file attached to your post and saved it to my desktop, but it still says the same message when I try to open it, in either Design mode or Filler mode.

You bet - here's a 2010 version. File > Save As then right click and select Design. :)

Hi, I have been trying to figure out how to do this exact thing and this is the first post i've found that is my problem exactly!

Unfortunately though, I have InfoPath 2010, and it will not open any of your all's attachments (says I need a newer version of InfoPath).

Would someone mind saving the latest ConvertDelimited.xsn that was posted by Patrick as an InfoPath 2010 compatible form and then uploading it so that I may download it (I assume just File --> Save As)?

Awesome! I wouldn't have found that. I was incorrectly thinking the convert rules did the row adding.

That's because you don't have any default values for your rows.

Go into Data->Default Values. Expand group1 and select group2 and choose the dropdown on the right and add a bunch of rows. Preview again. Works now. :)

Please take a quick look at my attached form. I have tried to duplicate what you have done, but I can only get 1 row to extract into both the repeating table and drop down list. Hopefully, you can tell me what I'm missing?

Yes, you need a properly repeating structure.

Adding one with default values should resolve your issue.

Is having a repeating table necessary for this to work? I don't have one in my form, but I have duplicated everything else in your sample. When I preview mine, I only get the first item in the delimited text string to appear in the drop down list box.Curiously, I deleted the repeating table from the form in your example and it still populates the drop down list box just fine. I don't understand why your sample still works and mine (that never had a RT) doesn't.

If the RT is necessary for the way you set your example up, can it also be accomplished in a way that doesn't use a repeating table?
