I'm hoping I can explain clear enough on how I wish to build upon that.

I wanted to build upon this structure and pull some additional information. We have an AD structure with our user's data that syncs up to Office 365. Our SharePoint environment comes with O365 and reads user data from O365 which again reads from AD. We are trying to update our AD info but need users to update their own information. This is where someone showed me how I can make a IP form so a user can go to SP and fill in their data.

Sadly, I think my users will be more inclined to complete the form if the form is already populated with their existing data. For example, a user will click new item and see the blank InfoPath form. When the form loads, it will check for the user currently signed in and then the fields populate with their data that can be found on their My Profile. When the fields are populated, I need straight up text values and not linked data. For those of you familiar with Excel, you can have a cell with a formula in it. If you copy that cell, it will copy the formula. However, there is an option to just copy the values instead of the formula. I want to apply that concept to my form. The reason for this is because we can ONLY update fields in AD.

Recap: I wish to designed a form that on load, pulls user data off SP and copies the values/plain text with no bindings/links into the form where the user can go through and edit their information and save back to a SP list.

Hope I explained this as clearly as possible. Please let me know if I can clarify on anything.
