If you're submitting to a SharePoint form library, then the entire XML is submitted (not just the changed fields)

2. The queryFields filtering happens on the server, not on InfoPath itself. Though if you're dealing with a list 10,000+ long, then, yes, performance issues are to be expected.

InfoPath - SharePoint integration

I have two questions about data load between InfoPath and SharePoint.

Firstly, how much data is sent 'between' InfoPath and SharePoint on a submit, is every field submitted, or only those which have changed? If I had a form with 50 fields and the form was submitted when any of these fields changed, would this likely have an impact on the server?

Secondly, the queryFields group which is available when modifying a SharePoint list form in InfoPath; does using these to filter a form do the filtering in SharePoint, or in InfoPath? I've encountered problems filtering data from SharePoint in the past when dealing with a list containing 10,000 plus items.
