When I click on "add or change lookup" and select "Current Item" as the data source and "Form Status" as the field from source, [%Form Status%] is displayed in the email body (and nothing gets returned in the actual email). If I choose another field as the "field from source" (such as "Created By"), [%Current Item: Created by%] is displayed in the email body (and the actual data does appear in the email). Might this shed some light on what is going on?

Re: InfoPath field not recognized in workflow

Sorry, I saw you wrote that but I don't know your setup.....I was thinking that any PC that has access to Sharepoint could publish the form without reinstalling Infopath, but in your test environment it makes sense that you are doing the work on one machine. The workflow should just read the field from the library so I can't imagine it not working for you.

Re: InfoPath field not recognized in workflow

I don't have InfoPath installed on the UAT server. If I return the value of FormStatus, it comes back as a null and I have set up the proper association column. The strange thing is that it works on our development server just fine, but not on the UAT server. I'm sure that I'm missing something simple.

Re: InfoPath field not recognized in workflow

I think you should use the 'If any value equals value' if you want the 'Define Workflow Lookup' window. The Condition you are using assumes you mean the current item and is just going to return the fields that you've promoted from your InfoPath form.

InfoPath field not recognized in workflow

I've designed a form in InfoPath and have a simple workflow for an email approval process. The workflow acts on a field called Form Status. In SharePoint Designer if I choose an "if" condition of "if current item field equals value", I don't get the current item field, I just get a list of fields instead of getting the "Define Workflow Lookup" window to select Data Source and Field from Source. I do get the Define Window Lookup box in subsequent "else" clauses which I thought that I set up exactly the same as the "if" condition. This is driving me crazy as I'm somewhat new to InfoPath and SharePoint and I'm sure that it's something simple that I am overlooking. When I do this on our development server where InfoPath is installed, it works fine. I'm trying to duplicate it on our UAT server which does not have InfoPath installed on it. Everything else works perfectly.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Doug
