Qdabra supports this forum, and if we have a product that may help you, we suggest it - but that isn't the main goal here.

At any rate, you could certainly create some kind of a script to do this yourself. If you open the XML file in a text editor, you'll see the location of the old template in the first line - after "href". You can change that to the location of the newly published template. Obviously, this can be done by hand, but you mentioned thousands of files - I think an automated method would be the way to go.

Re: infopath form templates from a sharepoint site

I should have looked more closely at this forum to notice that it is actually a product marketing site. Very disappointing.

Re: infopath form templates from a sharepoint site

Hi BreakWaterPC and welcome.

You just need to modify the processing instruction at the top of each XML file to point to the new location of the XSN file. We have a ModifyPI tool that you can use to do this in bulk. It's $29.

http://www.qdabra.com/webstore/products/11-qdabra-modify-pi-processing-instruction-tool-for-infopath.aspx

infopath form templates from a sharepoint site

I have a large collection of infopath forms that i
extracted from a sharepoint site on another server before it was dismantled. I
also pulled all of the form templates for the various forms from their
respective hidden folders on that server as well. I need access to the data in
the individual files, but i need to reassociate the form templates to those
files in order to open them. I've been able to open the templates in the design
mode and republish them to the local shared folder that they are now stored in
(these files are NOT moved to a new sharepoint site on the new server and are
now being stored in shared folders).
How do i reassociate the thousands of
data files i have to their newly republished template files in order to open
them.
And please don't suggest that i recreate a new sharepoint site and
reinsert these files there with templates published therein. Sharepoint sucks
and should be abolished. I like my data to be in a straightforward, accessible
manner as often as possible.
