The form works this way:

User clicks New on SharePoint 2007. This opens an InfoPath form.

User updates the InfoPath form and clicks Submit. This is a custom Submit button. The Submit in InfoPath is disabled.

Submit uploads the form to the library then sends an email.

Users can approve the form or reject it. Each update, including approval/rejection, is uploaded to the library.

Is it possible that when the user approves a form, this is uploaded to the library as a major version instead of a minor version? It is not an option to use the publish major versions only functionality in the library as we also need to track minor versions which are used for tracking the changes to the form before it is submitted for approval.

I saw this answer to a question similar to mine. This is what we actually did. However, we had some issues with the audit team as the version displayed on the form is different from the version number kept by SharePoint.
