However, I now have another problem - when I move all the forms out of the folders, update them (it saves to the right place now) I can no longer query the SharePoint library to get the "modified by" field. Any ideas??

Re: InfoPath 2003 Forms & Folders - Can't save.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have tried modifying the XML using notepad (we use SharePoint 2003, WSS 3.0) but the href attribute only references the template location - I haven't moved the xsn template, just the files created from them.

I don't think I have explained correctly. The InfoPath forms are completed daily, at the end of every month a SQL DTS is run to move them into a folder for that month - i.e. the forms currently being completed will shortly be moved to a "June 2011" folder, within the same form library.

I no longer want the forms in separate folders, so tried to move them out and delete the folders. Now when I try to save updates to a form created in May (that was saved in the May 2011 folder until I moved it out) I get an error to say the folder is no longer available.

My submit data connection just points to the form library, not a specific folder.

Re: InfoPath 2003 Forms & Folders - Can't save.

Dear "What My Boss Calls IT" (very funny username by the way):

Relink the forms. If you are using SharePoint 2003 (WSS 1.0) you should have a Relink option on the form library. If you are using a folder on a server, you will need to either a) manually modify the XML using notepad (to rename the href attribute at the top of the form to the new location) or b) use Qdabra's Modify PI Tool (which can apply the relink on all forms in the folder)

Happy trails!

InfoPath 2003 Forms & Folders - Can't save.

I had InfoPath 2003 forms saved in separate folders on my SharePoint 2003 form library. I have moved these documents out of the separate folders as I no longer want them there - and deleted the folders.

When I attempt to modify one of the infopath forms, I can't save because I get an error saying the folder is no longer available....it looks like it is trying to save the form back to the folder. Any advice would be grately received.
