Depending on the web part you have, you may or may not be allowed to add hyperlinks directly in your controls. If not, you might need SharePoint Designer.

And then of course, you'd need to know the location of your HR form template.

If your form is not browser-enabled, you can grab the URL in your HR Library page > Settings > Form Library Settings > Advanced Settings > Template URL. Prefix your SharePoint site URL to the relative URL you see in that page. It would be something like: http://YourSharePointSIte/Forms/template.xsn.

If it's a browser-enabled form, you must have uploaded the template via Central Administration where the URL would be something like: http://YourSharePointSIte/FormServerTemplate/YourTemplateName.xsn.

Hope that helps!

How Do I Open A New InfoPath Form From A URL?

I've developed individual Information Workspaces (IWS) for the employee's of my company but I can't seem to figure out how to create a link that automatically opens up a new InfoPath form that we are using. Here's the process I'd like to use:

1. User visits IWS (SharePoint 2007 Webpart Page) and clicks Icon

2. Icon opens a new HR InfoPath form

3. User completes form, hits the "Save" button I created (uses the persons name and current time as the forms name) and the form is saved back into the HR library

Environment:

SharePoint 2007 Used to display the IWS

SharePoint 2007 Form library maintains the HR InfoPath form template, along with other InfoPath forms for use in other libraries

HR Library (SharePoint 2007 Forms library) uses the HR form as it's template, all HR forms must be saved in this library

The HR form does use SharePoint 2007 lists to pull data to populate dropdowns

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
