Give it a read and see if it helps you with a resolution. It sounds like this type of filtering isn't supported in forms services, but I bet Alec has a work-around!

Referencing Specific Index in Repeating Element (Browser Compatibility)

I'm using an Infopath 2007 browser based form for an approval workflow. I have a contact selector that lets the user enter up to 5 users to approve the request. When submitted I want the form to separate each of these users into distinct approver fields.

What I'm trying to do is reference each element of the contact selector in sequence and save it to the correct approver field, but I get a browser compatibility error on my XPath expression.

Here's the first one I'm trying to run that results in the error:

Set field's value a1_user = Person[1]/AccountId

If I edit the XPath for this value it shows the expression my:approvers/my:Person[1]/my:AccountId. When I click Verify Formula it says it validates but when I try to deploy it to Sharepoint or verify browser compatibility it has the error:

The following expression could not be parsed because of a syntax error or because it uses an undefined namespace prefix or unsupported function: my:approver/my:Person[1]/my:AccountId.

Is there something wrong with the syntax or any other way to discretely reference individual elements in a repeating group?
