I forgot to increase the number of items displayed in the default view. It was still set to 100. Since I had the default view grouped by some of the fields, I didn't notice it. Because of the grouping and the item limit it was dropping random forms from the default view, so the ones overwritten weren't always the oldest.

I have now increased the limit to 100,000, should be enough, right? :-)

I did do one thing right, the ID is fetched when the users click on the submit button, not during form open. During the first submit it also sets a field called ticket number and during submissions later on it checks first if ticket number is already populated and if it is, it doesn't make any changes.

Thanks.
Also can you check the date created and date modified of such forms, it they get overwritted then created and modified fields value should be having less time difference

Re: Created by field is incorrect

I'm pulling the last SharePoint ID and adding 1 during submission so SharePoint ID equals the form name. There are all sorts of rules and controls that make sure that the same ID sin't used twice.

I do have it set to overwrite during updates so our folks can keep adding comments to the form without creating a new form every time they submit it.

Re: Created by field is incorrect

Make sure that the forms are not overwritten. most probably there might be something wrong with your form naming when submiting

Created by field is incorrect

I have a form, published to a single forms library in SharePoint. We have several users submitting forms to that library and frequently the "Created By" column shows the incorrect username. For instance, I'll submit a new form and it will have my coworkers name in the Created by column. I don't have the column referenced anywhere on the form and checked all the fields that get published to the library. None of them are mapped to "Created by". I do have user roles enabled on the form but I'm not sure if that would cause the problem.

Has anyone else encountered something similar or have an idea what could be causing this?

Thanks, Manny
