Also you can use this blog If you are working with web based forms which do not suppor filtering: http://www.sharepoint-tips.com/2007/01/infopath-form-services-implementing.html

Re: Drop-down list populated from Sharepoint List, filtered by data in form.

Hey Todd,

Yes, your form is similar to what I'm trying to do. The reason I need to "know" whether the loan is secured or unsecured is lenders have different lending limits dependant on this. (example.. a typical lender with 40,000 unsecured lending authority will have between 80,000 -100,000 for a secured loan.)

I think what i'm going to do 2 Optional section with conditional formatting based on what type of loan it is. So if it's an unsecured loan... It'll show the "unsecured" optional section listbox filtered by lender authority dollar amount!

I'll follow up with how i solved the problem.

Sorry for the late reply... my forum notifications aren't working :-\

Re: Drop-down list populated from Sharepoint List, filtered by data in form.

Hi,

I am assuming you have tried something similar to the attached sample form I put together? InfoPath will only let you add so many filter conditions (5) on the list box so that may be a problem. if you add a text field for type of loan (secured or unsecured) it might be easier than just using the amount Unsecure of Secured fields to sniff this out.

Someone may have a better idea but that's my .02

I have a sharepoint list called "lending authority". This list has 3 columns: Lender Name (string), Unsecured Authority (Number), Secured Authority (Number).

I am successfully able to pull Lender Name from my sharepoint list into a Drop-down list box in my form. What I want to do now is Filter the drop-down list based on multiple fields in my infopath form.

Example: Person puts in a loan amount of $40,000 in the Loan Amount field in Infopath and selects "unsecured" as the loan type (also in the infopath form.) What I would like to do then is filter the drop-down box to only show Lender_Names that have Unsecured Authority (Sharepoint field) Greater than or equal to the loan amount entered in the infopath form.

I have figured out how to do a simple filter based on only the Loan amount... but I haven't been able to figure it out based on multiple criteria! Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
