Hi:

We can't make the data source for a drop down dependent upon the value in another field. One non-code approach is to add 4 drop down controls, one bound to each data source, and conditionally format them to show or hide based on the selection in the other field. So if FieldA = X, then you hide everything but the drop down contol that uses Y for its data source. Looks a bit wacky in design mode, but the user experience will be what you want.

Hope that helps!

I understand. Thank You Hilary.

Re: Data Source Dependent upon Field value

Hi:

Hi,

Can you verify below link.

http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/david/archive/2007/08/23/implementing-cascading-dropdowns-in-forms-server.aspx

Verified but I dont see the relevance to my posting.

My particular condition is
If Field A (Drop Down List Box) = X then use Y Data Source for Field B (Drop Down List Box) Total of 4 data sources and 4 variablesJust jumping head first into Form Services and InfoPath, my terminology may not be correct but was think the logic statement may help explain my situation.

I have a form that has a drop down list, I want this list to query a specific SharePoint list data connection based on the value of another drop down list within the form. For example - the 4 SharePoint lists are North, South, East and West. If user selects West Region the product list will query the West product list for selections. I can successfully query a single data source but for the life of me I cannot discover the proper rule or filter to make this action work.

This form once in production will be used with Form Services.
