I have uploaded template files before but rarely do that (is that what happens when you don't publish?). At any rate, it is published and some users get the error and some users don't so scratching my head.

Thanks for any pointers!

Re: InfoPath 2003 form to SharePoint 2007 Form Library

Did you actually publish to the form library, or did you upload the template as a file?

Re: InfoPath 2003 form to SharePoint 2007 Form Library

So what did you learn? I am trying to publish this form to a SharePoint Form or Document library. When I publish the form, everything publishes fine but when I got to the SharePoint site and click new, I get the following error message.

"The document could not be created.
The required application may not be installed properly, or the template for this document library cannot be opened.

Please try the following:
1. Check the General Settings for this document library for the name of the template and install the application necessary for opening the template. If the application was set to install on first use, run the application and then try crearing a new document again.
2. If you have permission to modify this document library, go to General Setting for the library and configure a new template."

If have gone into the General Settings and have verified that the "Open in the Client Application" checkbox is checked instead of "Display as a Web Page". When I try to change the template name in the Document Template area, I get another error saying:

"Invalid template URL

The template must exist in the Forms directory of this document library. Create the template in the Forms directory, and then re-type the Web address. Note that you cannot move or copy a template into the Forms directory."

I don't know what this message is telling me. Can you explain this message and help me correct both of these errors.

Thank You for your help.
