I went into Tools | Default Values in Infopath and was trying to set the appropriate formula but haven't been able to figure it out yet. I was looking at the following links but neither got me what I want:

http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/11/27/conditional-default-values.aspx

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555838/en-us?spid=2515&sid=global

http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/7671/28624.aspx#28624

I also tried setting the SharePoint list as a sorted view so that the user will just have to edit the first field to '1' in SharePoint so that the first item will always be the default.

Does anyone know if there's a way to add a formula to set the default choice to a field in the first SharePoint list item?

Thanks.
