So long as you create a full InfoPath formatted XML file (get a sample XML from FORM 2), then it will open just fine in XML if it was saved out to SharePoint correctly via the DAVAdapter.

You'll likely have to do a little research in how to use the DAVAdapter to accomplish the actual save.

via a script, create an xml document that is saved in a sharepoint document list, which in turn the saved xml document can be opened by an existing infopath form (a content type)

Hi guys,

I have been looking into the forum, unfortunately I havent found any entries pertaining to the subject above.

Background : using MOSS ver. 3, infopath 2007

What I am doing is this, I have an infopath form which is used to track Tape movement (FORM 1). Contained in this form is a repeating table which displays data (entered by the user) regarding the tapes to be moved (tape information).

In the sharepoint, I have a document library, which contains the tape information(FORM 2). Tape information data can be filled up by either creating/composing it on an infopath form(which is working), and from FORM 1.

My problem now is, given the first form (FORM 1), Tape movement form, I would like to give the ability to users that they can create tape information on the fly by using the information found on the repeating table. I know the schema of FORM 2 and can be filled in via script. But how do you save this information on that document library given that when you click on that saved data, which was generated via script, can be opened in its designated form (FORM 2).
