Re: 2 - yeah I agree I was hoping someone may have found a property within InfoPath to control this but maybe it is just another one of those quirky Microsoft things like 60minutes timeout on the form

1 - I created a custom security permission before but the only option that stopped the error arising was giving the group the Manage Lists option from the custom permission group which is baffling me. I'll take another look at my form and see if theres something doing a secondary calculation as there are no workflows on this library yet.

For the second, you have the issue of the template being hard coded with the URL. Best scenario I can think of is internally setting up the moss.domain.co.uk so that it resolves internally as well and using the full path. That is the only way I can think it would work, to get these insync.

1) Access Denied when saving InfoPath Form / 2) Template Link appending domain to the start

I'm currently fighting two problems with Form Services.

1) When users save the form they get the error

"Access denied.

An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.
Log ID:5337"

I can make this go away by giving user's "Manage List" permissions, but don't particularly want to give them access to adding or deleting lists and can't see any reason why my form would give them this Warning error. The error itself doesn't stop the user doing anything, it still saves the document. The save buttons are custom buttons (one is save, and the other is save and close) which submit to a SharePoint Library connection using a calculated string concat(Department, Name, Week).

2) We have an internal name for the system http://moss and an external extension http://moss.domain.co.uk both of which belong to the same site collection, when users create a timesheet in either their timesheet gets updated with the property "Template Link" which automatically appends the domain to the start of it

Ideally I would like this value to save as just "/FormTemplate.xsn" so that no matter whether people come in externally or locally that they can access their sheet, otherwise you are limited to using only one. I am toying with the idea of making people just use the external address but if theres a way to keep the nice shortname, I'd appreciate it but cannot find any way to stop SharePoint automatically appending the address bar's URL to the beginning of the string. Anybody encountered this one before?

Thanks,
