I am aware that there is no TZ data in Infopath, what I need to know is how do I find the user's time zone and edit my timestamp so that I can send SharePoint the appropriate time-adjusted timestamp.

In addition, for whatever reason, I can send dates to sharepoint just fine, but not times.

Patrick Halstead:

Hi Yonah,

What is an "event"? Are you using an InfoPath form or is this some SharePoint list object? InfoPath doesn't change timezones like Outlook - it assumes times are entered in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time which is neither EST nor PST). I'm not sure what SharePoint lists would do. However, looks like your server is set to Eastern and the Outlook is doing the right fixup. This suggests that you are using a SharePoint list item (vs. an InfoPath form) and that SharePoint has some problem translating the time.

Just my random 2 cents though ...

Re: Sharepoint 03 / Infopath 03, Time Zones and Dates

Hi Yonah,

What is an "event"? I am posting to a SharePoint events list using infopath, with a smaller number of users on Pacific time.

For those on the east, everything works fine - i.e. they enter an event for 9-12, it shows up as 9-12.

However, the problem is for those on the west coast. If I add a west coast event for 9-12 pacific time (12-3 eastern). It shows up in sharepoint as 9-12 eastern. It then shows up on the user's linked outlook calendars as 6-9 pacific.

Is there any way that I can set the user's timezone when posting?
