The second SharePoint list was set to display only 100 items, and there were more than 100 in the list. Whenever I'd add one, it wouldn't display in the dropdown because is was higher than number 100.
Neal

Cascading dropdowns based on lists

I have a form with two secondary data sources that provide data to two dropdowns. The first is company information and the second is employee information. The second is filtered by the content of the first so that it shows only employees of the company selected in the first dropdown.
The data for both dropdowns are in SharePoint lists. There is a link on the form to the Create New Item page for each list. In other words, if you need to add a new Company, you click on the link and add it to the SharePoint list. To update the dropdown with the new Company, you click on a Refresh button.
If, however, I add a new employee using the same approach, the refreshing the data source does not add the new employee to the dropdown. Anyone have any idea why? My filter fields match because the Company name on the employee form is a lookup that gets data from the Company list.
Thanks,
Neal
