Change the Submit Options to use rules. Your first rule should be to set the Status field to Submitted. The status for the request is by default "Draft" and this field is a dropdown list. I wanted to create a rule so that once the user clicks on the submit button, the form status is automatically changed to "submitted" and this is recorded in the library. I tried going to the workflow route with SP Designer but I can't seem to pull up the drop down list options in SP. I promoted the column but that doesn't work in SP Designer. I'd like to therefore create a rule. Can someone provide me with step-by-step instructions on how to do this?
