I added a people picker to my library in SharePoint first. Then I created a workflow to set a variable for our domain, then set a variable that concats domain and ManagerId, and then update the people picker field I created in SharePoint with the concat variable.

As always... Thank you, Hilary!

Re: Connecting InfoPath 2010 People Pickers with a SharePoint 2010 Library

Trying it out now.

Re: Connecting InfoPath 2010 People Pickers with a SharePoint 2010 Library

Can you use workflow at all? Maybe promote the approver's user ID from your form to the library, then use workflow to set another field in the library (not promoted, created manually in the library settings) that IS a person or group.

Connecting InfoPath 2010 People Pickers with a SharePoint 2010 Library

I have a requirement to limit who can see what Expense Reports in the SharePoint 2010 library and not have to create individual views (which I have done before.. yucko). I am able to easily filter on Created By = [Me] but the Approver is harder.

1. To filter via [Me] it must be in a People Picker which it isn't. I have a field on my form that is connected to a Employee Info List, field = manager (I also have username and userID)
2. I do not have our Org Chart in the user config in SharePoint so it doesn't automatically know who my manager is
3. My Expense Report Approver might not be my manager "on paper"

I have tried to add a People Picker to my Library in SharePoint but I don't see it listed on my Fields list in InfoPath. I added a People Picker to my form thinking my users would just have to select their Approver. I created a new Group where I dropped in the Approvers, then connected the People Picker to that SharePoint group and gave that Group full permission to my library. Added the AccountId field to my list of fields being promoted, then published the form. I can edit and save the form fine. When I attempt to view the page with the People Picker on it, it throws a critical error. I check my log to see it's: "StateManager.GetState()Locked data (xxxxxxx)". It appears to be a security issue. I check my form and I am Automatically determining the security level. I am sooo far down this rabbit hole. Anyone have suggestions?
