If you get an error about the list item threshold, in the list settings in SharePoint, see if you can an index to the Park column. I believe that will get you around the threshold warning.

Exceeds the List View Threshold Option

I have a list (Work Orders) which exceeds the allowable 5,000 item threshold. It doesn't look like increasing that allowance is going to be the answer. I would like to reduce the return by first filtering by Park.

I have created a dropdown box; data connection; Park list. I can choose the park. I would like the choice of park to trigger a query of the 11,000 item Work Order list for all Work Order Numbers at only the park chosen. Will this cause the same error message? If not...

After selecting the park the form moves the user to the 'Work Order No' text field. The user should be able to enter a valid work order number associated with the park chosen (a validation error notwithstanding for a wrong number), entering a valid work order number would then auto-populate the rest of the form fields (that part I can handle).

Unless there is another method to get past the size error message and process the query.

Thank you,
