It's pretty easy to add code to your InfoPath form that calls Outlook to create a task using VBA. We could probably have someone code something up in 2-3 hours.

Unfortunately, there's no way to do this out-of-the-box from the client. You could use SharePoint 2007/2010 task lists (which can be synchronized with Outlook 2007/2010) but that requires SharePoint and you'll have to map your form to the task lists. We did a webinar last January that showed how to do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oQ7QdpYdx8&feature=share&list=PL581899A129522F53

How to create and send an outlook 2003 task from Infopath 2003

Hi,

I am using InfoPath 2003 to create a project plan for work. However, I would like to be able to integrate this with Outlook 2003.

I have fields for the start date and end date for a task to be completed, and the task subject and all that sort of thing. I want to be able to send a task to an email recipient specified in a field on the form, using the task information in the form. Is there any way to do this? I've looked and can't seem to find a way. I only use javascript code, and then I'm not particularly knowledgeable about it (mainly sendkeys and other gimmicky stuff- a no-right-click code for web-based forms and that sort of thing).

Any help would be greatly appreciated- working in my local Council there are a lot of projects that would benefit from something like this.
