I believe though the article is related to IP 07. it uses thisXdocument and UI.Alert. Although I can work aroung the UI.Alert I am not sure how to make thisXdocument or Xdocument work in 2010. Any suggestions?

Re: IS there a way to use IP validation of required fields thru c#

Yes - you should be able to check the error count - here's an MSDN link.

IS there a way to use IP validation of required fields thru c#

I have a form that I no longer use a form library to save to. I send my XML string to a data base and then control where i want the form to go using a SP list. What I have found using this route is my required fields are no longer required. They show the red asterisk. When you hover over them is says Connot be blank, but I can save the form blank. Initially I though I could right a module that would check each field, this could be a major effort to maintain. so is there so way to piggy back off of IP validation through c# to test for required fields not blank
