I guess if it doesn't affect the formula and doesn't come into conflict with another field name I won't worry about it. It just seems random how other fields from the same data source show the display name I changed them to, while some stick with "Field x". I noticed this when I updated my data source to include some fields I left out the first time.

Re: Field Name in Formula is not the Property Field Name

When you create a column in a SharePoint list, it gets an "actual" name that never changes. Columns also have a display name that you can change. What you are seeing here is InfoPath's way of partially concealing the real names by showing the display names in your form, but there are some places (such as when constructing formulas), that it makes more sense to show the real names. I don't think there's much need to worry about this. Use the real names where InfoPath provides you with the real names, and use the display names as a guide, and you should be fine.

Field Name in Formula is not the Property Field Name

Hello,

I was adding a field to a formula when I noticed the value used the default "Field1" instead of the actual changed field name. I now notice several fields show the old "Fieldxx" displaying. What causes this and how do I change it?
