You may want to check the UserInformationList: http://yourserver/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/UserInformationList

See if you can get what you need from there.... perhaps query that based on name to get the ID back, so you can query your other list?

You may also want to consider just using a list data connection - with ShP 2010 / IP 2010, list data connections have query fields - you could see what the data looks like from that.

REST Query On a SharePoint List

I am using a REST Data connection in my InfoPath form to query a SharePoint List. I have a Person Type Column in my list and when I try to query $filter on this column, i amreceiving an error. Examining the XML from page source, I noticed that this column was renamed with suffix of Id and is of type Int32.

Must be something what sharepoint is doing in the backend, how do I query this column by Name?

I just need Name from this column and I am not sure how to use the int value returned by the REST query.

I can make that column text and have users type in the Full Name but that solutionis prone for errors.
